Living in Uttara — honest review after 5 years

I’ve been living in Uttara Sector 7 for 5 years now and here’s my honest review:

Pros:

  • Relatively planned area with wide roads
  • Good schools (Scholastica, Maple Leaf)
  • Close to the airport
  • Metro rail access now!
  • More affordable than Gulshan/Banani

Cons:

  • Traffic congestion during peak hours
  • Limited dining/entertainment options compared to Gulshan
  • Waterlogging during heavy rain in some sectors
  • Distance from major business districts

Overall rating: 7/10. Would recommend for families.

What about properties outside of Dhaka? I think smaller cities offer much better value for money.
