Chittagong vs Dhaka — where's the better investment?

I’m based in Chittagong and I’m debating whether to invest in property here or in Dhaka. Chittagong is my hometown but Dhaka obviously has a much larger market.

People who have invested in both cities — what’s your experience with returns?

I had the opposite experience actually. In my case, the process was much smoother than expected.

I’m from Sylhet and the market here is very different from Dhaka. Expat investment drives up prices significantly.

Good points but I think you missed one important factor: the quality of construction varies HUGELY between developers.

The prices you mentioned seem a bit high. I’ve seen slightly lower rates in the same area recently.

Adding to this — make sure you check the building’s fire safety compliance. Many buildings in Dhaka don’t meet standards.
